I usually take a wait-and-see attitude when it comes to the kind of behind the scenes scuttlebut, innuendo, and
hearsay that has surrounded rumors of an Apple Tablet PC. But Rob Bushway, who is a trusted source, said on his blog
that he heard from one of his trusted sources…
Oh, just go and read his post and
make up your own mind. Or just wait and see what Apple does. It does all sort of makes sense when you consider the Wall
Street Journal, who tends to do stuff like fact-checking, felt confident enough to report talks between Intel and Apple
this morning.

3. Rob: If it were anyone other than you (or James) posting this kind of information I would have remained silent. It may or may not come to pass but both of you are trusted sources of information for me.
BTW James, I agree with you that this is sounding more and more like a companion device than a primary PC like the Tablet can be.

4. Thanks, Marc. Based on the pictures and on the info that I received, I agree. It sounds more like a large PDA that looks like a Tablet PC.

5. It would be too bad if it were a 'large PDA.' I work in a college environment where more and more people are switching to to tablets-great for classroom teaching. And our students also want to buy tablets. Apple would lose that market with a large PDA, but certainly could sell some tablets if the machine were close to as functional as a regular laptop. At a minimum, the machine should be able to run powerpoint/keynote on a projector...

1. I've seen this floating around and it sounds more like a PDA than a Tablet. I hope Apple (and Microsoft too for that matter) knows better than to offer a Tablet with an OS that's been "dumbed" down.
