I spoke about this new Power Toy with James Kendrick during our most recent
Tablet PC Show podcast. As of
last Sunday, the only release information I had was "in August". Well, here it is.
"
SyncToy is a free PowerToy for Microsoft Windows XP that is an easy to use, highly customizable program that helps
users to do the heavy lifting involved with the copying, moving, and synchronization of different directories. Most
common operations can be performed with just a few clicks of the mouse, and additional customization is available
without adding complexity. SyncToy can manage multiple sets of directories at the same time; it can combine files from
two folders in one case, and mimic renames and deletes in another. Unlike other applications, SyncToy keeps track of
renames to files and will make sure those changes get carried over to the synchronized folder."
If you use more than one PC, this may be well worth checking out. Windows Genuine Validation required.
Sync Toy Beta v1 released

(Page 1)2. Phillip - the Sync Toy looks like many other Microsoft PowerToy releases - basic functionality at a great price. There will always be better third alternatives for processes as complex as synchronization. I still think they deserve a "goodonya" for having released this. For those with basic sync requirements, it gets the job done.

3. Hi Marc,
Agree. Just often that people get these features and then find they want more. I thought people might be interested with this cool tool that might not get the press that Microsoft tools do. Microsoft do do a great job but as you would know, they may be limited by there size and maneuverability to add features that Allway are probably better situated to act on.
Keep up the great work (Love the TPN TabletPC show even though I don't have one).

7. I like to the tool a bit slow on load up and cannot remove pairings that are no longer required, works nicely for laptops who work on different domains and need to syncronise files between sites.

8. I had a look at it, but its nothing on Allway Sync that I currently use. Got me to think I should write a review, so I did.
