I got a most interesting e-mail from eWEEK today. I subscribe to the digital format version of eWEEK (as well as a
number of other titles) via Zinio Reader which is a terrific application on the
Tablet PC - especially in Portrait mode.
Today's e-mail contained the following intriguing message:
This Monday, October 10th, you will receive an email containing a link to the Texterity version of eWEEK. In an effort to make your digital reading experience more enjoyable and user-friendly, eWEEK is testing this new format. We're sending you the digital version of eWEEK via Texterity in addition to the Zinio Reader version that you currently use. Texterity boasts all the benefits of Zinio, however, there is no downloading process—just click and read!
The graphic shows some of the features promised for this no-download Texterity version. I'll report back on Monday on how this format compares to Zinio Reader.

1. The nice thing about Zinio is that you CAN download it. Textify might beat reading their website, but will you be able to read when you're offline?
I guess this is really the whole web vs. application argument. I just see if being more likely that I will want to read books and magazines when I'm offline... moreso even than RSS, which I already can with Outlook.
