Following a backpack malfunction, Tracy Hooten at
The Student Tablet PC
has been chronicling her (mis)adventures trying to get her Toshiba M200 repaired and has been using a slate Tablet PC
loaner in the interim. In a reflective post today on life without a convertible, Tracy wrote these words of
wisdom:
"Josh Einstein, if you're reading this, I
will never live another tablet day without appreciating Outlook and TEO. The mess I've become from being Outlook-less
is frightening. I am the first—or you know, if that's reserved, I can be second—in line for TEO 3.0."
Put me on the list too Josh (if I'm not already).
Also, these observations on going back to paper:
-
I can't stand writing on loose-leaf paper anymore. The loose part of it drives me crazy.
-
I also can't stand the wire rings on binders I have to deal with as a lefty, leaving me with just notepads and the ones with the spiral on top.
-
The is no pen in existence—I've checked—that writes as smooth and as saturated as my tablet pen. Period.

1. As a fellow lefty, I can certainly relate to the issue with binder rings. But on the Tablet PC I have similar issues with scroll bars and my lack of figuring out a way to move them to the left side of the windows!
It bugs me to no end that I have to reach across whatever I'm reading, thus blocking it with my hand, to grab the scroll bar with the pen to scroll down.
I know that Windows supports putting the scroll bars on the left side for languages that read from right to left. So why can't we arbitrarily move them to help us lefties??
