I was just reading some of the comments on Eric Mack's blog post about his paperless challenge and saw a note that
3M's Post-It Note software now supports digital
ink. I've used the software in the past and always enjoyed it's simplicity and polish. Here's the product
description:
Go Mobile: Free yourself from your keyboard with Post-it® Software Notes - Professional and a Tablet PC. The pen input
on the Tablet PC lets you take notes in your own handwriting wherever you are. Perfect for recording action items at
meetings, taking notes on the go or just personalizing your messages.
The Professional edition of Post-it® Software Notes offers all of the features of the Standard edition plus the ability to:
-
Take handwritten notes on a Tablet PC or other pen enabled PC running Windows 2000 or Windows XP
-
Send & receive notes over a local area network (LAN) so you can "stick" a note on a coworker's desktop just like you do with a paper note
-
Share Memoboards over a LAN so everyone on a team can share their thoughts and ideas
-
NOTE: Features using the LAN are only available if both parties are running Professional and are connected directly to the same LAN via the TCP/IP network protocol.
There is no evaluation available of this Professional Edition. A free version of the software (without ink support or other advanced features) is available. The Professional Edition costs $24.95.

1. Do you know the Anoto technology? http://partner.anoto.com/cldoc/2985.htm
This is the direkt link between the little yellow paper post-its and the post-it software. An example for this system is the logitech io pen.
